A drawer that opens calmly
Sort on a washable surface
Empty the drawer and clean it. Separate daily items, occasional supplies, and things that belong elsewhere. Follow disposal directions for expired products and medicines. Store medications as their labels require; a humid bathroom may not be the right place.
Keep categories broad
Group together items used for the same routine. A small section for hair accessories or dental supplies is often easier to maintain than many tiny compartments. Keep sharp items and any products requiring controlled access stored appropriately for your household.
Fit the drawer, not the photograph
Measure its inside width, depth, and closing clearance. Check for screws or curves that reduce usable space. Test a layout with existing shallow containers. Leave enough room to lift items out and wipe the drawer without dismantling a complicated arrangement.
Make upkeep brief
Place everyday items toward the front and backups elsewhere when possible. When something new arrives, give it a specific home. If a compartment is always overflowing, rethink the category rather than forcing it to fit a divider that no longer serves you.
